The Requirement
The ability to ingest a feed and play it out later to compensate for varying time zones or programme origination delays such as the +1 channels frequently appearing on a digital bouquet seems very straight forward but tend to require a complicated automation layer.
The Solution
The Image Server Broadcast Time Delay unit provides the complete solution to this application with what must be the simplest set up interface in the market. All that is required to set the system up is a standard keyboard, mouse and SVGA monitor plus FIVE minutes of your time.
Delays can be set with single frame precision and will remain frame accurate. The use of an external genlock means that multiple units will remain completely synchronised.
The set up GUI allows the user to select:
That's all that is required. Now remove the keyboard, mouse and monitor and let the unit run. What ever goes in, comes out at the time you specified later.
The unit is fixed to encode and decode video to / from the MPEG-2 4:2:2 profile, 30MBps I-Frame maintaining the video in a very high quality. In the period preceding the programme delay the unit outputs SDI black and audio silence, as it does if the input signal is lost for any reason.
The unit has an inbuilt RAID5 to provide utmost reliability. The set ups are also stored so that in the event of a power failure the unit the unit will power up configuring itself to the last specified time delay and resumes the record / playback cycle.
The Benefits
The Dimension 3D is a unique and highly versatile 3D Format converter allowing the conversion of any standard 3D format to another including changing of the frame rate.
